Bengkulu, June 14, 2023 – Poltekkes Bengkulu is making headlines once again as its esteemed researchers have been awarded a prestigious research grant by the National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN). Led by the renowned lecturer Emi Yuliantini, MPH, along with Andra Saferi Wijaya, M.Kep, and Ayu Pravita Sari, M.Gizi, the team has been entrusted with the task of preparing a policy brief on “Coaching Education in Adolescent Reproductive Health (Kespro) with the Sipenting Application and Healthy Snacks Consumption in Preventing Stunting.”
The research project aims to address the critical issue of stunting prevention in adolescents, particularly in SMP N 1 Manna. Stunting, a form of chronic malnutrition, can have severe consequences on a child’s physical and cognitive development, leading to long-term negative impacts on their overall well-being.
Under the guidance of Poltekkes Bengkulu’s esteemed researchers, the study will explore innovative approaches to combating stunting through coaching education. The team will utilize the “Sipenting” application, developed specifically for this purpose, to deliver educational content and raise awareness among adolescents regarding proper nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices. Additionally, the research will emphasize the importance of consuming nutritious snacks to ensure the adolescents’ physical growth and development.
The policy brief developed through this research project will serve as a comprehensive guide for policymakers and stakeholders in implementing effective measures to prevent stunting among adolescents. By bridging the gap between research findings and policy implementation, Poltekkes Bengkulu aims to contribute significantly to the overall improvement of adolescent health in the region.
